How to Choose Activities Women Will Enjoy
If you organize activities for a women’s club or an HOA, you probably know that finding an event everyone will actually enjoy is not as easy as it sounds. You want something that gets people excited to attend and leaves everyone saying, “That was so much fun! When’s the next one?”
The best group activities for women do more than simply fill an hour on the calendar. They help people connect.
I’ve had the opportunity to perform comedy for women’s groups and HOA communities, and one thing I’ve noticed over and over is that laughter has a way of bringing people together faster than almost anything else. At one event, there was a line of women waiting to get in and they were keeping to themselves. By the end of the show, women who had lived in the same neighborhood for years but had never really talked were laughing together, introducing themselves, and making new friends. Others were new to the community and told me the laughter helped them relax and feel like they belonged.
When people laugh together, the walls come down.
1. A Clean Comedy Show

This is one of my favorite activities because I’ve seen the results firsthand.
A clean comedy show gives women permission to take a break from their responsibilities, laugh, and simply enjoy themselves. Whether they’re raising children, caring for parents, working full time, retired, single, or married, everyone needs time to recharge.
The best part is that everyone experiences the event together. Instead of dividing into smaller groups, the shared laughter creates a feeling of connection that often continues long after the show is over.

2. Speed Networking

This works especially well when there are new members.
Pair women up for three to five minutes and give them a few simple questions to answer before rotating to another partner.
Some ideas include:
- What hobby do you enjoy most?
- What’s something you’re proud of this month?
- What’s one thing you’d love to learn?
By the end of the activity, everyone has met several new people without the awkwardness of trying to break into existing conversations.
3. Share Your Wins

Sometimes the most encouraging meeting is one where people celebrate each other.
Invite each woman to briefly share:
- Something good that happened this week.
- Something she’s grateful for.
- A recent accomplishment.
- Someone who made her smile.
This simple activity creates a positive atmosphere and helps everyone leave feeling encouraged.
4. Show and Tell

Ask everyone to bring an object that tells a story.
It could be a travel souvenir, a family heirloom, something they made, a favorite book, or even an item that represents an important life lesson.
People often remember stories much more than introductions, making this a wonderful way for members to get to know each other.
5. Creative Workshops

Hands on activities naturally create conversation.
Some popular ideas include:
- Flower arranging
- Painting
- Candle making
- Cookie decorating
- Seasonal crafts
- Vision boards
People don’t have to be artistic to enjoy creating something together.
What I’ve Learned About Women’s Events
One thing I’ve noticed is that many women attend these gatherings because they’re looking for a break.
Life is busy. Women spend so much of their time caring for others, solving problems, working hard, volunteering, and showing up for everyone around them. Even women who don’t have children often spend their days giving their time and energy to family, careers, friends, or their communities.
Sometimes an event is filled with presentations about illnesses, financial worries, or other heavy topics. Those conversations certainly have their place, but not every gathering needs to remind people of life’s challenges.
Sometimes what people need most is to laugh.
A positive, uplifting event gives women permission to recharge so they can return to their everyday lives feeling lighter, more energized, and more connected to the people around them.
The Best Activity Is the One That Creates Connection

When planning your next women’s club or HOA event, don’t just ask, “What can we do?”
Ask, “How do I want people to feel when they leave?”
If they leave feeling relaxed, connected, welcome, and genuinely happy they came, you’ve created something memorable.
If you’re looking for a clean comedian who creates an uplifting experience that helps women laugh, connect, and enjoy time together, I’d love to be part of your next event. Feel free to visit my comedy services page to learn more or get in touch.
Final Thoughts
The best women’s group activities are the ones that create laughter. Laughter has a way of helping people relax, put their guard down, and connect with one another in a way that feels natural. Whether women have known each other for years or are meeting for the first time, sharing a laugh creates memories, strengthens friendships, and reminds everyone to take a break from life’s responsibilities. Sometimes the best thing you can give your group isn’t another meeting. It’s a reason to laugh together.
